Management is the second seminar in the series of technology watch workshops. It was held on Monday, March 17th, 2008 at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Verdun-Beirut.
It targets IT professionals and aims at stressing the importance of project management for IT projects and highlighting key issues to be discussed in later more extensive workshops.
The workshop consisted of 5 major presentations. In the first, basic definitions and differentiations between project management and product management and their scopes were discussed, and in the second, quality management was defined. Parts three and four handled the phases of placing software development in context and the importance of project management. Finally, project monitoring, tracking and control were discussed and questions were asked.
The topics were presented by Professor Akram Najjar, were 36 participants from 12 companies took part in this seminar. They all gave positive feedback and filled out excellent evaluations asking for more training regarding the same subject matter. Accordingly, a 4-day intensive training on IT Project Management will be held in the near future.
