The whole mission was in association with AFPI, Association Franco-Lebanaise des Professionnels de l’Informatique. This mission has accomplished a lot for the Lebanese companies by giving each participant an average of 9.5 planned meetings with the French companies in the events; this is excluding the several individual meetings which took place yielding a total of 82 realized meetings.
This has led to impressive results. As a start, Lebanese companies can now apply for a place as permanent exhibitors at the échangeur of Paris. It was also established that there is a mutual interest of having ESIEE students doing internships in Lebanese IT companies. Finally, CCIP obtained all the documentation about the LSS Cluster and its companies to give out to all interested French companies.
In the comments about the whole mission, Joe Abi Aad, the General Manager of Netiks and president of ALSI, said that the meetings where quite good and they now see the opportunity of opening two new channels there. Ghassan J. Abboud, managing director at White Mountain, mentioned that “… before the mission I had no contact in France.
I have at least three good contacts that I can count on now…” This is exactly what the mission hoped for: Increased contacts and support from various companies through which the industry could grow and prosper. “… The public was impressed by the professional quality of the Lebanese companies …” says Georges Mokhbat, president of AFPI. Quotes like these spell success for the mission and all its future goals, since it shows that the right message is going through: Lebanese companies deserve the support, and the support is right there, waiting for an introduction, or a Mission to France…
